nikkor zoom lens 55-200mm
Help Best Sports Lens – Zoom?
I use a Nikon D40 to photograph Australian Rules Football (AFL). I currently have a 5-5AF Nikkor 55-200mm 1:4-5 6G ED, which works very well, near mid-range (3 to 40mtrs away). However, when trying to take photos from across the field (approx. 60 – 80mtrs away) I'm has not been in as close as I want. Photography is always a good thing that the D40 is an SLR impressive, but the details are obviously not when I cut modify or photo. Can someone please write a good zoom lens that would be able to help me get a little more and raise my detail. I did a little research on the net, but found that Nikkor lenses are very expensive and almost out of my price range. I now have my eye on the Sigma 50-500mm F4-6.3 EX DG / HSM but right now I'm not sure if is good for any sport or action photography. Some advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Paul.
Hi Paul, Sigma 50-500mm lens is likely to be acceptable to you, as a sunny day. The problem that you have made the wrong time will not have much light to shoot the slow addition of the lens, you will see also problems with the auto-focus lens "We've lost the light. Generally, these lenses are slower to focus correctly sun quickly to get a shot of moving subjects. We also need to speed up the ISO of the camera to compensate for the lack of light, but his plans begin to granulate. Does inside your zoom? You might consider a lens of 400 mm or 500 mm is lighter (f2.8 or so) and could be in about the same price range the zoom. Hope this helps. Tony Walks
